Description |
Nau mai, haere mai. Welcome. This conference, which takes place every two years, is truly international in its scope and has succeeded in attracting 150 speakers from the United Kingdom, Western Europe, North America, Asia and the Pacific. The full conference will provide a forum for independent, university-based, government and industry researchers to make presentations and share in discussion and evaluation of cultural policy research being undertaken internationally. New to this year's conference is the public programme First Fifteen, a series of eight one-hour seminars by leading national and international cultural commentators that will take place over the four-day conference. This series will provide a unique opportunity for anyone interested in the arts and heritage to learn more about the issues and challenges of cultural development. Conference Themes: - Knowledge, Heritage and Cultural Continuity
- The Arts and Heritage: Institutions, Access, Education
- New Policy Concepts and Models
- Contemporary Exotic: Local Cultures in an Age of Globalisation
